Relief teachers sought

Trained and registered teachers are often needed to cover classes for teachers away sick or on trips. While we have a pool of teachers we can call on, we often need more than are available on a given day.

If you are interested in making yourself available for relief hours, please send an expression of interest and attach your CV including registration details to Stephen Rodger, Deputy Principal in charge of relief. Email [email protected]

Teacher Aides (June 2021)

We are seeking teacher aides to support several boys who have learning, behaviour and/or mental health challenges. Our Teacher Aides are valued for the part they play in ensuring all learners can engage with their learning and will work with these students individually, and in small group or classroom settings.

We seek applicants who have empathy, patience, a sense of humour and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Being well-organised and adaptable is important as tasks can vary depending on student needs.

Previous experience as a Teacher Aide is preferred but not essential, as is experience in working in a secondary school setting. A successful Police vet is a requirement for the successful applicant.

We have several teacher aide positions available, which are fixed term to the end of the 2021 school year and range from 10 to 20 hours per week. A starting date asap after 26 July 2020 is preferred.

If you would like further information, please contact the Principal’s PA – Karen Huaki-Feaver, 04 527 8749.

A completed Upper Hutt College Application Form (below), MUST be included in your application, together with your CV and Cover Letter. Please email your application to Karen Huaki-Feaver, [email protected] Applications close Friday 2 July 2021.
