Transport Arrangements - Buses

To allow for Year 9 and 10 students to get to and from Maidstone Intermediate and Lane Park Church, there are some modifications to the bus routes as follows:

  1. Transit Buses

For buses bringing students from Kaitoke, Whiteman’s Valley, Akatarawa, Maymorn and Avian Road:

  • There are NO changes to the times the buses leave these areas in the morning
  • Stops at Maidstone Intermediate and Lane Park Church will be added to the services for dropping off in the morning and picking up in the afternoon
  • Buses will still travel via Upper Hutt College (Moonshine Road bus stop)
  • The afternoon return buses will arrive slightly later to their destinations after picking up students from Maidstone Intermediate and Lane Park Church
  • Transit Buses have said that as the students travelling these routes are well-known to the drivers we can have confidence that students will be assisted with these modified routes.
  1. Metlink Buses

For buses bringing students from Stokes Valley, Totara Park, Pinehaven / Silverstream and Te Marua / Timberlea / Birchville routes:

  • There are NO changes to the times the buses leave these areas in the morning
  • Stops at Maidstone Intermediate and Lane Park Church will be added to the services for dropping off in the morning and picking up in the afternoon
  • Buses will still travel via Upper Hutt College (Moonshine Road bus stop)
  • The afternoon return buses will arrive slightly later to their destinations after picking up students from Maidstone Intermediate and Lane Park Church
  • Metlink have provided maps of these bus routes (see below).
  1. Upper Hutt College – Maidstone Intermediate – Lane Park Church Bus

There will be a separate service operating to take students from the Upper Hutt College area to the Satellite Schools and returning them at the end of school day. This is a free service.

  • This bus will depart from Upper Hutt College (Moonshine Road bus stop) at 8.30am. (updated)

Please note

  • Senior students travelling to Upper Hutt College for exams and workshops at Fergusson Intermediate and Trentham School will still be able to catch these buses
  • Buses will stop outside Upper Hutt College from the Moonshine Road bus stop. Students are to walk to Fergusson Intermediate via Hikurangi Street – for safety reasons, they are NOT to go through Upper Hutt College during the demolition works period
  • Staff from the bus companies and the school will be present at Upper Hutt College, Maidstone Intermediate and Lane Park Church during bus arrival and departure times
