Business Studies
Mission Statement:
To create in students an awareness
of and practical interest in Business and Enterprise
through hands on experience. Students of Business and Enterprise will learn to aspire, to try
things and to accept failure as a step on the way to success.
If you like money (both making it
and spending it) then our subjects are for you!
Therefore the aims of the Commerce
Department are:
- To equip students with
personal financial literacy skills.
- To provide students of
Economics with the ability to make more sense of the economic world in which
they participate and understand how it affects them in their everyday life.
- Engender a continuing
interest and desire for further studies in our subjects or a career in Business
or Accounting.
- Develop the essential
values and key competencies necessary to be an effective member of society.
- Achieve the best possible
results in external examinations.
Why should
students take our subjects?
Students need to develop knowledge, skills, experiences and attitudes
which will enable them, as individuals and as members of groups to:
- Become confident about
their ability to work within the community, and the world of business.
- Be better managers of
their financial affairs, resources and their own life.
- Be familiar with the
business, consumer and employment environment in which they must play an
important part.
- Appreciate and employ
modern technologies and software packages.
- Develop their
entrepreneurial skills.
