JUNIOR SCHOOL - YEAR 9 & 10
YEAR 9
All Year 9 students will study English, Health, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science and Social Studies.
In addition to this they can select up to FOUR options. Options are half year programmes except for French, Japanese and Maori which run for the full year. A language is equivalent to two half year options.
All of these options are open entry and lead on to related options in Year 10 and the senior school.
Please read the descriptions of the options carefully.
When you select your options you need to select the equivalent of four half year options. You must choose one from each group plus one other. If you select a language you select two other options only.

When choosing your options take the time to think about:
- Your future career and subject prerequisites
- where your option goes in the senior school
- your passion and strengths. Which subjects will help you use these strengths to your best advantage.
- If you have no idea about future careers/course/plans then plan a course that keeps your options open.
