Inzone Careers Kiosk - Information

We are privileged to have in our school what is called an “Inzone Careers Kiosk”,  situated on the mezzanine floor of the Library.  It contains a whole lot of video clips communicating information about a number of Job areas.

The interest areas covered are:I

Industry Training Organisations – Hairdressing, Mining, Gas, Quarrying, Motor Industry, Building & Construction.Industries – Seafood, Forestry & Furniture, Baking, Truck & Bus Driving, Fabrication, as well as Army, Navy, Air Force and Health Careers. Also Massey University, Queenstown Resort College plus others.

The kiosk also offers students the opportunity to make on-line requests for information, about the topics covered in the video clips, to be sent to them. Please encourage students to access this information if the topics are of some interest to them as they consider their future.  Year 13 students may access the kiosk at any time but other students will need to check in with the Library or Careers staff.  Students probably need at least 20 minutes to see information of interest so it could be done before school or interval or lunch-time.

On-Line Career Information:

The best web-site for Careers Information is that of the NZ Careers Services - www.careers.govt.nz  You will find background information regarding just about any job you can think of.  You will also find information on topics like how to make wise subject choices and how to put your CV together.  We recommend that you make good use of this web-site when exploring about future training or jobs.
