"CAREER TIPS"  FROM THE CAREERS SERVICES

Welcome to Career Tips. This provides practical tips, information and support that you can use on a daily basis to support young people as they make learning and career decisions.

It’s decision time for teens at school. They are choosing school subjects or making plans to leave and move on to further education or work. On top of this, many teens are in the middle of internal assessments and exams.

In this issue, we provide tips and tools so you can help teens in these situations. We also provide advice on the importance of having a ‘plan B’ for teens who are considering tertiary study next year, now that tertiary institutions have limited spaces on courses.

  Helping a teen choose their school subjects for next year? Choosing the right subjects is all about connecting interests, skills and subjects to career options, and planning ahead with pre-requisites. Use this information and these tools, to help a teen choose their subjects.
